Dlalisa Moyeni Foundation Urges Victims of Zanzou Incident to Seek Assistance from the Foundation
19 FEBRUARY 2025
The Dlalisa Moyeni Foundation strongly condemns the appalling actions of the bouncers at Zanzou, a nightclub in Hatfield, Pretoria
As an organization dedicated to the well-being of the boy child and shaping young boys into responsible men, we find this incident deeply disturbing and unacceptable.
We believe that those responsible must face the appropriate consequences, such blatant disregard for human dignity and human rights cannot be tolerated. At the same time, we emphasize that there were far better ways to handle the situation than subjecting these men to public humiliation.
Dlalisa Moyeni Foundation Chairperson, Bongani Skosana, urges a shift in focus, from punishment for the perpetrators to providing support for the victims.
“They need counseling to help them process what has happened, psychologically, physically, and emotionally. This incident has deeply affected them. It is crucial that they receive the necessary support, including medical assistance,” says Chairperson Skosana.
The foundation calls on those affected, especially those seen in the widely circulated video, to reach out for support. We are committed to assisting them in any way possible to help them rebuild their lives.
We also urge law enforcement to act swiftly and impartially in addressing this matter.
